Ingredients
Choose from a selection of fresh herbs and tender salad greens:
- Basil
- Chervil
- Chive
- Mint
- Dill
- Mizuna
- Baby Arugula
- Mustard greens and flowers
½ – 1 cup sliced or slivered almonds
2 Tbl salted butter
Meyer lemon olive oil (Lucero and O are excellent brands, available for mail-order from Sur La Table or Amazon)
Flaky sea salt
Lemon Vinaigrette
2 Tbl fresh squeezed lemon juice
½ tsp finely grated lemon rind
3-4 Tbl olive oil
¼ tsp dry mustard
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Instructions
Pick, wash and thoroughly dry a selection of fresh herbs and young lettuces to equal approximately 6 cups.
Melt butter and sauté almonds until golden brown and fragrant.
Just before serving, toss the greens with almonds and dress lightly with either Meyer lemon olive oil or lemon vinaigrette. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
